DSC Cricket Bats 2024 Cricket Bat Range Review

The DSC cricket bat range has arrived for 2024 and we have had the pleasure of taking them in our nets and testing them out.

In this blog, we give you our honest review of the Krunch, Spliit, Pearla, X-Lite, Intense and Blak DSC cricket bats.

We got the chance to review and test the 2024 DSC range, used by the likes of David Warner, Usman Khawaja, and Alex Hales!

In this video, Hinders and Chris take you through the entire range before Hinders faced the Speed Buddy to give you his honest review.

Who are DSC?

DSC (Deluxe Sports Company) has been making cricket bats for over 40 years but for only two full seasons in the UK. Despite being new to some of you, they have extensive experience in producing fantastic bats.

They have an ever-growing list of international players who trust DSC so you can guarantee they are of the highest quality.

Some of these players are David Warner, Usman Khawaja, David Miller, Alex Hales, Rachin Ravindra, Danni Wyatt, Rory Burns, Ashleigh Gardner, Moises Henriques, and very recently Jason Roy in the SA20.

DSC Blak Cricket Bat

The DSC Blak cricket bat is the only brand-new option in this initial range for 2024 and was modelled by Rachin Ravindra, who enjoyed a starring role in the 2023 World Cup in India for New Zealand.

Technical Specs

  • Mid-Low profile

  • Thick Edges

  • Concaving offering lightweight feel and pick up

  • Treble sprung handle

  • Rounded Toe

Performance Review

Hinders forgot to give much feedback on the DSC Blak because he was so intent on hitting me behind the camera, but I can confirm, he was hitting the ball very hard!

He grouped the DSC Blak with the more traditional options, in terms of shape and profile, which were the Pearla and Spliit (more on those later). This meant the wood was evenly distributed throughout the bat.

Who will the bat suit?

The DSC Blak would suit most batters because it is a shape most people will be used to and comfortable with. The colours are also very clean as a new option this year so it will be a solid option for people to choose.

DSC Krunch Cricket Bat

The DSC Krunch cricket bat is a signature in the range, mainly because it is used by their star batter David Warner, who recently retired from test match cricket but will use this bat in the T20 World Cup this year.

Technical Specs

  • Powerful

  • Monster Profile

  • Rounded Face

  • Mid Balance Point

  • Rounded Toe

  • Oval Handle

Performance Review

Immediately Hinders noted the great balance of the DSC Krunch bat as well as the thinness of the handle. It is one of their more solid options, so it plays a bit smoother with straight bat shots rather than cross-bat because of the size of the bat.

Who will the bat suit?

Hinders felt the DSC Krunch was more suited to front-foot attacking players because the weighting of the bat was a bit lower so encouraged those who are looking to be positive and play some T20 cricket to shop this bat.

DSC Pearla Cricket Bat

Alex Hales, who continues to ply his trade in T20 competitions around the world despite his international retirement, uses the DSC Pearla bat. It fits a more traditional profile in the DSC range compared to the bigger Krunch and Intense.

Technical Specs

  • Extended Profile shape

  • Mid to Low Sweet Spot

  • Large Edges

  • Subtle extended concaving

  • Pronounced Bow

  • Lightweight Pick Up

  • Round Toe

Performance Review

The DSC Pearla is our most popular DSC cricket bat in the shop and you could tell why immediately as it flowed beautifully through the shots. Hinders was not surprised at all to hear that it had sold so well.

Hinders enjoyed it from the moment he tapped the bat on the floor and this continued when he put bat to ball.

Who will it suit?

Everyone, there is a good reason it sells so well because people enjoy everything about it from the look to the performance.

DSC X-Lite Cricket Bat

The DSC X-lite cricket bat is all in the name as it is a lighter option in the range and it has a clean look with a combination of black and gold so you will look the part with this bat in your hands.

Technical specs

  • Mid-High Profile

  • Outstanding pick-up

  • Huge edges

  • Subtle concaving

  • Pronounced bow

  • Rounded toe

Performance review

The DSC X-Lite bat was the surprise package for Hinders because he does not normally like the lighter options in a range. However, he enjoyed the fact that despite the obvious redistribution of weight lower down, it still had exceptional balance.

Who will the bat suit?

If you’re looking for a lighter bat then the DSC X-Lite is undoubtedly a good option. We have had exceptional feedback on this bat so far and it is not just Hinders who has fallen in love with it.

DSC Spliit Cricket Bat

If the DSC Spliit cricket bat is good enough for the 2023 ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year, Usman Khawaja, then it’s good enough for anyone. The Spliit can be grouped with the Pearla as one of DSC’s more traditional bat profiles.

Technical specs

  • Full extended profile, large hitting zone

  • Mid-Low Sweet Spot

  • No Concaving

  • Lightweight Pick up

  • Rounded Toe

  • Semi Oval Handle

Performance review

You would have thought the Pearla would be a hard act to follow for the DSC Spliit bat but Hinders enjoyed using this bat just as much. It allowed him to play attacking shots while having the same flow as the Pearla.

Who will the bat suit?

The DSC Spliit could be used by anyone, it can play cross-bat shots easily so this is something to note for someone considering buying this bat.

DSC Intense Cricket Bat

The DSC Intense is arguably the most striking of the designs in the 2024 range as it combines purple and blue. It is not just the design but it also has a great pick-up, especially considering how big it looks when you pick this bat up.

Technical specs

  • Mid-Low Sweet Spot

  • All Round Play

  • 295mm handle length

  • Treble Sprung Handle – Flex

  • Great Pick Up

  • Traditional full blade profile

Performance review

Hinders really enjoyed using the DSC Intense bat and almost dubbed it his favourite of the range while he used it, despite it only being the second one he tried.

In his words: “The wood is in all the right places.” This meant it was forgiving and no matter where the ball hit the bat, you get value from your shots.

Who will the bat suit?

This is a good all-round bat which will suit several people. It has the thickness and power of the Krunch while having the pick-up to play cross-bat and back foot shots just as easily as on the front foot.

DSC Cynos Cricket Bat

The DSC Cynos is another new bat but will be designed to suit female cricketers, and is a lighter bat option. This bat is being used by Australian International Ashleigh Gardner.

As it has not been launched in the UK yet, we were not able to test the bat but look out soon!

Technical Specs

  • Traditional blade design

  • Massive edges

  • Powerarc bow face profile

  • Traditional full-blade profile

  • Mid swell position

  • Allround stroke play
